Countdown ... ... ...

Hey there not much time left. Busy selling what can be sold busy retrieving what can be installed elsewhere. People of Minton Rise, minton rise will be just a place in history soon. Move on all.

For those who cannot depart from the grounds there, waiting for the invitation for a discounted unit, do work your sums right. Also, remember what they have for you is not the same as those they want to sell in the real market.

"Police, I want to report ... ... ... "

Some residents have had enough of the extra noise from the work site which included the weekends called the police to complain. As we all are aware, we are going through the period call free stay. What exactly is the definition of "free stay"??? Was it stated in the contract what that means for the people of minton??? Was it stated what the developer can do or bring in since the land is theirs???

Know your rights. If you are surrounded by too much noise or machinery, just report it. Is the police of much help here??? NO. They cannot do anything except to take down your statements and hear you complain. Then why report??? I would say, it is a way to show unhappiness , to show a last minute protest that they are working on a piece of cheap land. They will respect you by moving off to other location where no one call the police.

Current situation ... ... ...

As you can see , minton is already a worksite. Everyday trucks of all shapes and sizes came in and out. On top of it, the dengue cases made this place more unpleasant. Come tomorrow, the eighth month of the chinese calender, people who already got a place will start moving off. Some are still trying to ask for extension despite the noise.

100 days to go

As we all know we have 100 day left before we have to leave here. A couple of months ago, request for extension was rejected. However to my knowledge, many actually will not be getting their flats on time, that is if it needs renovation. Since there are no signs of show flats, residents are speculating developers had to be cautious since they were greatly underpaid. Many are hoping the next request for extension not be turned down. Blame it on the property agents who pegged the surge in property prices due to minton rise enbloc.

Looking around minton rise, the estate is not like all other previous estates that went enbloc. The other estates were paid a sumptious amount they need not dismantle the items they intent to discard and sell it to the 'karang guni' man. They started throwing things away and it was an awful sight. Minton is just the opposite. Well I am very sure these are not environmental friendly people either. They are so hard for cash in such bad times, they had to sell unusable things and reuse what they can. Blame it on those who sold the estate at such terribly low prices causing many to be so miserable and turning hostile to their neighbours.

................. with regrets

A chat with Mr Mok, who now works for Peak Gardens revealed about two third of residents have not surrendered their keys. I would think half of that are on rental. He also said some residents were paid the 20k by mistake when they got their lump sum payout.

If you hang out long enough to chat with more people, one can sense a heavy sigh of regret from those who agreed to the enbloc sale from the beginning. Some actually shook their heads in silence. When I asked if they like this place, they nodded, also in silence.

With Thanks

I am overwhelmed. Thank you for asking. I do not intend to end this blog just yet though the last title was "All the best". I actually was away on a trip and am too busy. I know I do not have a wide group of readers but that will not deter me from ending . I have to admit the feel is diminishing fast especially so since my last return to Minton was quite sometime ago.

Minton Rise is extremely quiet. Looks like many already vacated their flats. There is a countdown counter on the left of the homepage. That is how long anyone has before the bulldozer moves in.

All The best !!!

I was almost wrong. Many are happy with the payout. Many wanted to get out of Minton. There are simply no bonds amongst them, no memories worth recalling, no friendship worth keeping. Nothing. Sale Committee glad all is over. No one wanted to know any more reasons why Minton was sold for a song. Lawyers are happy. All mess cleaned up to pave the way for more task coming. Property agents smiling to the banks. Fat Fat commission from Minton. Thank you Minton for such easy fees.

There are so many who are in the professional line ; lawyers, teachers, executives, managers , doctors , researchers and so on. Yet they submitted to words preached by the previous management council members and their representing agent who are just retirees and some with struggling businesses.

I have to agree from a contributor Minton Rise was sold for an extremely low price. How could anyone be so naive as to sign so much of their rights and takings to total strangers???

Pay out ready

Hello all residents, by the end of the day, many would have gotten or cash in on the money from the developer. Are you happy??? Really happy???

"Oh, how different would it be if I have not signed???"
"Shit!!! Where can I go with this miserable amount???"
" Omigosh!!! Is this all I get"

Surprise!!!

Many will be disppointed. Many will only know the effect of enbloc payout comes 3pm. There will be so many questions to ask. "Where is the money???" " Return to bank." "Back in your CPF"

I am very sure many will not celebrate.

Sale committee members already seen appearing in banks as early as yesterday.

Completion problem

Yes. I heard something like a little problem cropped up and that might cause a delay. But to point the finger at the MC now is a little unfair to them. Let us find out if the developer is in the position to enforce the late fees or completion is only on hold pending the outcome of the outstanding issues. Let us realise that the few cases with outstanding dues should not be a responsibility of all residents too. If indeed someone is held responsible for the delay , it should be these few with outstanding funds and not the management members. They are doing their part to protect whatever small amount that is balanced in the MC funds to be distributed to all residents.

Whoever got any latest news please share. Thank you

Reveal No 3

No one has yet to give me the impression of how much they understand the contract they signed apart from those behind it.

Minton has quite a lot of bankrupt people. I do not know if those who pushed the sale so hard are amongst them. Too bad for these people, even if they refused to sign, the official assignee would agree once a letter goes to them via the sale committee lawyer.

There are a fare bit of divorced cases too.

Do not feel too comfortable where you stay. People are doing checks on you and they know your financial situations to.

Records showed there was an interested party who was willing to pay higher then what the sale committee was promoting. Everyone would reap a better payout as compared to now. Per household can get 30 to 40 thousand more. It was not followed up and they took it upon
themselves without revealing this when there was an EOGM held.

Also, some residents who had better connection wanted to help out in search of a better price, but that was also turned down.

Developer is serious!

Sorry folks. Go buy your own house as soon as the money comes in. No extension of stay for those who are still hoping property market can go down further.

No need to hope for some funny situation similar to Gillman Heights too.

Reveal No 2

Minton Rise was once a HUDC. After it got privatised, it became a private estate known as Minton Rise today. Of course it came with a price.

The privatisation fee had to be paid to the authority. ( Sorry, I have no idea who this 'authority" refers to. ) Anyway, all had to pay. For those who bought their house higher than the collective sale payout, they are able to claim back the cost. That is if you are a minority. 'Minority' means one who did not sign the enbloc contract.

Reveal No 1

Like I said before, some people contributed some useful news but when I refused to put them on my blog, they want to know why.

Then later, I thought it harmless to put them up bit by bit.

Yes. It is true some minority residents got more than those who signed.

The majority who signed thought they were doing a good deed to the entire estate to expediate the collective sale. In actual fact, they fell as easy prey to the Sale Committee.

Minton Rise Enbloc Saga

No, I am not going into producing a new drama. Come to think of it, it might not be such a bad idea after all.

Anyway, I want to thank some readers who have contributed materials for me to be put up in this blog. I must say I am very intrigued by the findings. Right now, I have to salute the minority more than the management members.

In time to come, I will release bit and pieces of it or maybe even the whole chunk of it. Do keep your mails coming either via this site or my mail direct. It is really a pleasure knowing you guys.

Before date of completion ....

For those who already bought a HDB flat, a condo, or even a semi-d house, is the amount you are about to get really alot???

Do you have the feeling it ought to be more so you can go on a long vacation on top of getting a house???

Do you have the feeling it ought to be more so you can buy the car of your dream instead of a simple car???

Do you have the feeling it ought to be more so you can pay for somebody's medical fee or even donate to a charity???

Restricted amount??? Feeling tight??? Gotta consciously know how you spend and be extra careful as you do not have enough to hold a party.

So where is freedom???

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Do you really want it to happen???

How many of us don't really want this enbloc sale to go through???

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Over Now.

Yes.

Officially over. Case withdrawn.

Date of surrendering the keys - 2 Dec 2009

Is it really over???

Is there a dateline set for the High Court hearing???

Why would the developer give up on Minton especially after Gillman Heights ruling???

This episode has to come to an end. It has taken longer than when some chaps went around saying 'just sign' and you will probably get your money in about six months time. It was back in the year 2005 and 2006. Other vital points were never mentioned. It was after the signing of the last document in 2007 when many suddenly woke up to the fact they cannot back off. Honestly, even if one sells his property in the open market, it will never take so long. There is only an agent and a buyer and one would never have the fear of being sued.

Who is the happiest when Gillman Heights lost???

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Sorry Folks, wrong info!!!

There was no hearing for Minton on the 2nd. It was only for the lawyers.

As for today's case for Gillman, I will have to wait to be updated.

New Year, New Hopes

Minority Type 1 --- They still think they have a good case.

Minority Type 2 --- They thought they had a good case but there is simply no justice to see them thru.

Minority Type 3 --- They seem to be the winners as they sat on the fence to watch the game, heck care who win or loose.

Majority Type 1 --- They are hoping this saga will quickily end in their favour as they signed all legal documents for the handover of their house. There is simply nothing they can do.

Majority Type 2 --- They want this to end in the minority's favour.
