Is it really over???

Is there a dateline set for the High Court hearing???

Why would the developer give up on Minton especially after Gillman Heights ruling???

This episode has to come to an end. It has taken longer than when some chaps went around saying 'just sign' and you will probably get your money in about six months time. It was back in the year 2005 and 2006. Other vital points were never mentioned. It was after the signing of the last document in 2007 when many suddenly woke up to the fact they cannot back off. Honestly, even if one sells his property in the open market, it will never take so long. There is only an agent and a buyer and one would never have the fear of being sued.

Who is the happiest when Gillman Heights lost???

I think it is incorrect to say that Gillman Heights lost . The minority owners were defeated in their appeal. The majority owners are now able to complete the sale. So you can also say that the majority owners got the decision they wanted.

And your question on who is the happiest. Maybe someone can answer that but I am just relieved that we are another step closer to the end of the story. I just hope that the lawyers will work faster to get this thing sealed up.

By the way, many thanks to the blogspot owner for setting up this blog for us to pen our thoughts.

It's in the court calendar for today (2 March) but not sure if it will be cancelled/postponed. see last item in this site (s/no 38):

Now it's over and it's another wait -- for the money to come in.

The objectors have withdrawn their high court proceedings.
The lawyers say the completion date is june 2.
They want strata title, cpf statement, proof of property tax payment for the year, proof of payment of maintenance till june, etc.
Anything not given will lead to delay to sale completion and payment.

Can anyone advise if we will be getting initial payments from the developer? If so, how much (is it 10%) and when?

This money will come in handy for putting downpayment for replacement home. If not, we will certainly need more than 6 months to find a place, renovate and move out.

i think the money comes in only upon completion. thereafter you are given 6 months.

does the house owner get his/her share of the money when he/she completes the sale of his/her unit, or only when everyone has completed has completed their sale as well?
