From the postings, it seems that comments were all from majority owners. Hence, objectors are welcome to tell us their side of the story as to why they are persistently trying to scupper the en bloc sale, particularly during this time of recession and a weakening property market. As a matter of fact, their action has actually benefitted many in Minton Rise, including yours truly.
Imagine this scenario. The en bloc deal is disallowed. The objectors rejoice. The judge orders each side to pay their own costs. The objectors are ordered to pay their senior counsel half a million bucks and the majority are told to pay their senior counsel another half a milion bucks. Let's count the costs. Painting of all the blocks must be done under the law. Cost: more than $1 million.
The lifts in Blocks 146 to 149 must be changed. $250,000 each, so $2 million for eight lifts. Roofs are leaking and other parts of Minton Rise are falling apart. So more money. Your own toilets and other part of your house is also giving way. Again money. The MC proposes to buy an expensive security system to protect the condo. Recession is coming. Oh, my gosh, what's happening?
I appeal to objectors to desist. look at the financial turmoil. Do you really want to be burdened by more payments? In the event that the sale is off - its going to be that much harder raising funds for whatever that needs to be done - more will have financial difficulties. sometimes its not just about how much money you can take, but how much you will save going forward.
Anyone knows when will be the gilman heights court of appeal result?
gillman hts court of appeal hearing on 2.2.09, same day as minton rise high court hearing 2nd day.
the difference between high court & court of appeal?
